Ruth Lorenzo Releases Brand New Single "Good Girls Don't Lie"

We’ve been waiting for new music from Ruth Lorenzo for some time; and, finally, it’s here. “Good Girls Don’t Lie” is her brilliantly catchy new single. It is the first single to be released from her forthcoming second studio album, Lovaholic.

She is best known for coming fifth in the fifth series of The X Factor. She later went on to represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, with the song “Dancing In The Rain”; managing to come tenth with 74 points. Most recently, she took part in Tu Cara Me Suena (the Spanish version of Your Face Sounds Familiar), where she went on to win the show with 47% of the televote.

Now she’s gearing up to release Loveaholic, and we seriously can’t wait. This lead single “Good Girls Don’t Lie” zoomed straight up the iTunes Chart in Spain to the very top. At this very moment, it is at number five.

Listen To Ruth Lorenzo’s “Good Girls Don’t Lie” Here:

The song is beyond catchy, so it’s no surprise it hit the Spanish iTunes chart so high. It’s a great vocal from Ruth Lorenzo, which we’ve certainly come to expect. It has a relaxed backing track allowing much more focus on her voice.

It has a pop-rock twist to the song, something we haven’t heard from Ruth Lorenzo since her days on The X Factor. Her “Purple Rain” sing-off performance is truly unforgettable, and this song definitely has that spirit, determination, and vocal class that she showed way back then. No one’s ever been able to perform “Purple Rain” quite so good as she did on the show.

She teased the release of the song in early September. She dropped this video on social media, saying:

Oh honey, you can’t break a broken heart. You can’t steal a stolen soul. You know, my daddy took it with him when he left. So now it can’t be yours. And I will do as mamma said ‘be a good girl, always tell the truth’ so baby you should run. Don’t dare to stay cause I’m not good to you

She followed that up with a second video where she writes out some of the very meaningful lyrics, in a text, before deleting them all and sending a simple reply. We’ve all been there, done that.

The song is certainly a favourite of ours, one that is a total grower of a song. We can see this being a massive hit in Spain, we are just hoping that it gets heard on a more international scale, as this deserves to be an international hit. We also hope that a music video and remixes get released as we need to hear more versions of this song!
