The gritty Channel 5 procedural drama Suspects will return for its fifth series in Autumn 2016.
Sky Media confirmed the news through a message to sponsors, which also reveals that the upcoming run will sport 6 episodes – longer than the usual 4.
Sky’s statement also reveals that the show has been Channel 5’s “most successful drama” with a “loyal following” – which should come as no surprise considering that the network (among others) airs numerous US imports, including NCIS and the now-axed CSI.
Some view its unscripted nature as the show’s USP – scripts are ignored, with cast (including Fay Ripley and Damien Molony) instead using ‘detailed plot descriptions’ to steer the story’s events themselves.
